Child Education

Nakilima Charity Organisation focuses on increasing access to quality education for in school and out of school Youth (Boys and Girls) and Adolescent Girls and young Women (AGYWs). Nakilima Charity Organisation desire is that each youth attains the core skills and abilities they need to lead a productive and fulfilling life. We envision promotion of dignified, free engagement of youth and women in economic livelihoods activities through collaborating with youth friendly spaces like technical artisans, workshops, homes, churches, schools and other establishments to skill the youth. We deliver to the dot of every youth and women interest, and we work along the theme of “Youths’ best interest, Youths’ best welfare”..

Monitoring, Accountability, Learning and Evaluation

Nakilima Charity Organisation take learning as a very important steps to quality improvement and necessary adjustments in effective project implementation. The Foundation’s approach to programme-level design, data management, monitoring, and evaluation has helped in provided a basis for overall operations. Our engagements admires and work through the use of community-based monitoring approaches like Learning through Action Research (LAR) appreciative inquiry, Participatory Learning and Action (PLA), organizational self-assessment, and action oriented documentations. Amere Foundation’s Accountability Culture Initiatives (ACI) and Beneficiary Engagement Processes (BEP) are all based on a well-designed M&E framework and has been lauded by several funders. Medical Treatment

Nakilima Charity Organisation strategy focuses on improving the health and nutrition status of 2000 vulnerable Households of youth and young women. Amere Foundation’s approaches address the leading causes of maternal, newborn, under -five child, and adolescent illness and mortality. Interventions focus on behavior change, community system strengthening, health system strengthening and advocacy at individual family, community and service provider levels while ensuring community-facility linkages and facility-community linkages

Programmatic Capacity

Nakilima Charity Organisation combined and integrated programming ensures a holistic approach to meeting both humanitarian and development needs of target communities. Nakilima Charity Organisation uses Rights based approached that are participatory and community-based to enhance ownership of the projects by the beneficiary communities. The organization is committed to seeking effective transitions to create sustainable local ownership and government support. Years of commitment in Kitgum Municipality has resulted into deep-rooted relationship of trust with these communities and their local leadership. This makes Amere Foundation uniquely placed to efficiently deliver emergency, recovery projects and development programme. This is aligned with a very proactive unit of Monitoring and Evaluation that justifies the relevance and effectiveness from any donor or well-wisher.

Collaborations and Governments Relations

Nakilima Charity Organisation operation approach is multi-sectoral and community-based, actively partnering and collaborating with a range of government and Local Government entities, International agencies, peer NGOs, national NGOs and Community-Based Organizations. Amere Foundation is an active member of Inter-Agency Committee on Refugees (IACR). Nakilima Charity Organisation is also well represented in Working Groups and sector clusters at both Division and at the District levels to strengthen coordination and enhance efficiency. The Foundation maintains an affectionate working relationship with the Government of Uganda through the Local Government of Kitgum. Pure Drinking Water

Nakilima Charity Organisation has sound financial systems that ensure transparency and Accountability for the effective use of resources and efficient financial processes. Financial processes follow a Standardized Financial Policy (SFP), which is based on Financial Acceptable Accounting Principles (FAAPs). The SFP provides the guidelines and grants management expenditures. To ensure financial information integrity, Amere Foundation utilizes the Quick book, and Tally Accounting Packages to input, track and monitor all financial transactions and this system is able to accommodate different donor requirements in real time. Amere Foundation financial records are audited annually by the Ernest and Young, reputable International Audit Firm, as well as internal audit team to guide in compliance of grants management.

Food Security and Livelihood

Nakilima Charity Organisation approach focuses on promoting sustainable livelihoods resilience and improving food security among vulnerable households. The organization works through existing community groups to maximize economic opportunities for vulnerable households, stabilize their access to and consumption of a diverse and nutritious diet, and increase social capital by reinforcing relationships between local systems and the communities they serve. Key livelihoods interventions such as supporting village savings and loaning (VSLA), linkages of community groups to financial services such as SACCOs and banks, linkage of farmer groups to inputs and output markets.
